Biography
Since graduating from Oxford in PPE, Calum Chace has worked as a journalist for BBC World Service, as a director for AMR International and KPMG, for BP in both the UK and UAE, and was the CEO of Weeding Technologies. Currently Calum is a consultant on A.I. through 3cs, a company he founded. He is also the author of ‘The Economic Singularity’, a non-fiction book about the prospect of widespread technological unemployment; ‘Surviving A.I.’, a non-fiction book about the likelihood and impact of strong A.I. and super-intelligence; and techno-thriller ‘Pandora’s Brain’.
In the emergent, active debate over A.I., there are as many that are excited by the possibilities as there are and those who are warning of disaster.
As well as a brief historical look at the developments of the new world of deep learning A.I., Calum’s talks provides evidence for both sides of the argument and guides audiences through his strange new world. Ultimately he makes the case that A.I. can turn out to be the best thing that will happen to humanity, making our future wonderful almost beyond imagination.
